Q: How do I train my dog to use the PlexiDor?

A: Most dogs learn the PlexiDor within a day or two. Start by holding the panels open or using treats. For difficult cases, a dog trainer can usually train the dog in less then 1 hour.

Q: Is the frame chew-resistant?

A: Yes. The frame is made from hardened T6 aluminum. Most dogs will not chew it. It does not rust or dent easily.

Q: What is the difference between bronze and white finish?

A: White and bronze are powder-coated finishes, like a kitchen appliance. Satin is anodized aluminum. All resist fading, yellowing, and clean easily.

Q: Is the PlexiDor safe for children?

A: Yes. The PlexiDor has a weather seal and secure closing system. There are no sharp edges, and it poses no danger to children. However, do not have the dog door going to a dangers area for children such as swimming pool or work area with power tools.

Q: Can I paint the frame?

A: Yes. You can repaint the frame. Lightly sand, prime, and use high-gloss paint for best results. Do not wrap the frame in vinyl.

Q: Do you ship to Canada?

A: Yes. PlexiDor ships throughout the USA and Canada. Customs may apply depending on your location. The best price is usually thru your local Canada PlexiDor dealer.

Q: Can the door be removed and reused?

A: Yes. If you move, you can remove the PlexiDor and reinstall it in another door or wall. Save the original cut-out template.

Q: How do I measure my dog for a PlexiDor?

A: Measure your dog's height from the floor to the top of the shoulders (withers). Install the unit with the opening 2 inches above that height.

Q: Can I let out my dog but not let the cat go out?

A: Yes, but if the two pets are friends, the cat may run out just behind the dog. If they are not friendly, it works better.

Q: Does the PlexiDor require special tools to install?

A: No tools required are a jigsaw or other saw, drill, and screwdriver are sufficient for installation. Detailed guides and videos are available online.
